From a young age, the world of fashion was not just a passion for Shukura; it was a lifestyle woven into the very fabric of her daily life. While still navigating the halls of high school, she showcased her talent for creativity by becoming a ghost designer for a local seamstress, where she crafted intricate African wedding dresses that reflected her cultural heritage and artistic vision.
Upon moving to Tampa, Florida, to attend the International Academy of Design & Technology, Shukura's dedication to fashion design caught the attention of industry insiders. In 2007, she was selected for a prestigious production project that would culminate in her first in-store show at Saks Fifth Avenue. This pivotal experience not only enhanced her skills but also opened doors to a myriad of opportunities. Shukura quickly began collaborating with notable charities and major brands, including IKEA, leveraging the power of fashion as a marketing tool to promote philanthropic causes and elevate brand narratives.
In 2016, Shukura took a significant step forward by establishing her very own production company, being the CEO and founder of The Fashion Excursion LLC. The launch of her company marked a new chapter in her career, with collaboration with Saks Fifth OFF Fifth. This partnership not only underscored Shukura's expertise in producing fashion events but also demonstrated her ability to blend her creative vision with strategic marketing initiatives. Today, Shukura Porter-Murdock stands as a trailblazer in the fashion industry, continually pushing boundaries and inspiring others with her innovative approach to design and production.

Traci's impressive 14-year journey in the fashion industry has solidified her as a multifaceted leader in North Carolina's vibrant fashion scene. With roles that span across management, brand management, marketing, and creative direction, she has not only etched her name in the world of high fashion but also played a pivotal role in orchestrating some of the most celebrated fashion shows globally. Her expertise extends far beyond mere aesthetics; Traci is a strategic thinker, capable of seamlessly integrating the front of house (FOH) and back of house (BOH) operations, ensuring that each event not only dazzles but functions impeccably.
Balancing her professional commitments with her responsibilities as a 'momager,’ Traci is actively involved in managing the budding careers of her children in the fashion industry. Shelby has dedicated an impressive 15 years to the pageantry and modeling industries, showcasing her talent as a professional model and thriving as a business owner. Her current title as 'International Ms. USA ' not only highlights her accomplishments on the runway but also underscores her commitment to empowering young women in this world. As the founder and CEO of 'Beyond the Pretty Face,' Shelby has created a transformative platform/Brand that challenges conventional notions of beauty. She believes that true beauty expands beyond mere physical appearance, encouraging young women to embrace their individuality and use their unique traits as sources of strength and empowerment.
For 14 remarkable years, Shelby has emerged as a beacon of versatility in the modeling industry, skillfully navigating diverse realms like runway, print, commercial, and fitness modeling. Her recent triumph as 'Model of the Year' at the Carolina’s Fashion Awards 2022 vividly highlights her enduring influence and popularity within the fashion community.
In addition to her modeling success, Shelby is also an accomplished entrepreneur, proudly serving as the face of many brands and designers. She is the face of Shawn Monique Designs, DAVA Designs, LYNN MAQ Designs, and a luxury global skincare line, Elle Johnson Cosmetics, which is prominently featured on seven billboards. She is the face of over 12 brands. Her visibility extends even further as she appears on five billboards around the world for Supermodels Unlimited, showcasing her dynamic reach in the industry from around the world. Jeff Hoyle, a talented hairstylist and entrepreneur, currently resides in Fort Mill, South Carolina, but his roots trace back to the picturesque landscapes of Western North Carolina. A proud graduate of Burns High School in Lawndale, North Carolina, Jeff further honed his craft at Paul Mitchell the School Charlotte, emerging as an Honors graduate. With a decade of experience in the hair industry under his belt, he has made a significant mark as the owner of Salon 914 in Charlotte, NC. Beyond his salon, Jeff is also a Brand Partner for Sheree Cosmetics LLC, showcasing his dedication to beauty and style.
In addition to his accomplishments in the salon, Jeff has played a pivotal role in the fashion world as the Executive Backstage Coordinator for The Fashion Excursion in Charlotte. His impressive tenure in the fashion runway industry spans ten years, during which he has worked on and produced numerous fashion shows across the region and at prestigious events like Official New York Fashion Week, Art Hearts Fashion, and various showcases in Orlando and Los Angeles. Jeff’s multifaceted experience—ranging from backstage hairstylist to producer of his own runway shows—has equipped him with a deep understanding of the hard work and unwavering determination necessary to ensure a successful show.
Renowned as a celebrity hairstylist, Jeff has garnered recognition not only in Charlotte but throughout the United States. He has had the privilege of styling notable personalities, including Cynthia Bailey and her daughter Noelle, Celeste Thorson, India Gantz, and Tiffany Pollard. His talent has also taken him to high-profile events like the Emmy Awards and the Oscars, where he styled celebrities and their brand partners. Jeff’s dedication to his craft has earned him numerous accolades, with the most notable being named Farbe Magazine's 'Best Hairstylist of North & South Carolina' from 2019 to 2021. His journey is a testament to passion, skill, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in the world of beauty and fashion.
FOH (FRONT OF HOUSE) DIRECTOR - TOSHIBA ADAMS
Toshiba Adams embodies resilience and passion, seamlessly balancing her roles as a dedicated mother and grandmother with her diverse and inspiring career. After completing high school, she took a bold step by enlisting in the U.S. Army Reserves, serving for eight years—a decision that instilled in her a strong work ethic and a sense of discipline. This foundation led her to explore the restaurant industry, where she discovered her love for catering. In 2007, Toshiba took another significant step in her journey by earning her Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), which paved the way for nearly a decade with Charlotte Meck Transportation. Her commitment to excellence and leadership quickly became evident as she transitioned to Academy Charters, where she progressed from a bus operator to the operations manager for the UNCC Transit Service, thriving in her role for over six years.
Alongside her transportation career, Toshiba’s passion for the culinary arts flourished. In 2015, she sought out mentorship from Leeza Able at Perfectly Plated Catering Services LLC, honing her culinary skills and building the confidence necessary to embark on her own entrepreneurial venture. This culmination of her experiences and dedication came to fruition on July 2, 2017, when she proudly launched SHI CAN COOK. Her catering business reflects her commitment to quality and personalization, serving clients with everything from intimate gatherings to grand celebrations. Through hard work, creativity, and a genuine desire to make every event special, Toshiba Adams has not only made her mark in both transportation and catering but has also inspired those around her with her unwavering determination and vibrant spirit.

Laurence Logan, a Chicago native now residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a distinguished fashion photographer with an illustrious career spanning over two decades as a creative. His ability to blend Eastern and Western aesthetics set his work apart, earning him accolades and a diverse clientele. His career has seen him work with top-tier fashion designers, high-end retailers, and leading fashion magazines.
